are welcomed as investors.
Of the GBP1,000,000, up to GBP250,000 may be used to purchase a residential
property. The remaining GBP750,000 must be invested in United Kingdom
government bonds, or share or loan capital in United Kingdom registered
companies.
There are restrictions on the types of investment to ensure that companies are
not established to increase the applicant's investment in residential property.
Further, the funds must benefit the United Kingdom economy so bank and building
society deposits are not accepted.
The applicant must intend to make the United Kingdom his or her main home so
this category has significant tax implications.
