Medical treatment
www.visalondon.comOverseas nationals may come
to the United Kingdom to receive private medical treatment. There is no
entitlement to treatment under the National Health Service.
If you intend travelling to the United Kingdom for private medical treatment
you will need to show that this is the true purpose of your visit and that the
treatment is of finite duration. The authorities require you to leave the
United Kingdom upon its completion. You may wish to consider asking your doctor
to refer you to another who has regular contact with the British Embassy or
High Commission in your country of residence. He will be able to advise you as
to whether the treatment that you require is available in the United Kingdom.
You will need to produce details of your medical condition and your
arrangements for the consultation or treatment. As the treatment must be
private, you will also need an indication from your proposed practitioner in
the United Kingdom of the cost and duration of the treatment in order for the
visa officer or immigration officer to be satisfied that you are able to afford
to pay for the treatment, your subsistence and accommodation in the United
Kingdom.
If you have a specific query regarding the immigration requirements involved in
coming to the United Kingdom for medical treatment, please email
personal@visalondon.com or use our general
enquiry form.
